ARA Exhibit at Kellogg-Hubbard Library

The following is a Spotlight review by Marc Awodey, published in Seven Days:

20 members of the central vermont-based art resource association [through april]

In Between The Lines
Approximately 30 pieces by more than 20 members of the central Vermont-based Art Resource Association are scattered throughout the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, through April 26. The paintings, prints and photographs are located on both floors and cover a range of styles. It’s a philanthropic show, too — 10 percent of sales will be donated to the library. November 13, 2007 to December 20, 2007

The show was very positively reviewed by Marc Awodey in Seven Days. Click HERE for a link to the review.

Mark Awodey said, in part:

The ARA's website explains that the central Vermont organization has been “dedicated to supporting artistic excellence and expression and enhancing public understanding of the visual arts since 1975.” The 2007 members' show confirms the group is living up to its mission.

Marc spoke highly of work by Deborah Hillman, Gladys Agell, Barbara Scotch, and Wilma Lovely.

*Montpelier Art Walk
Montpelier Art Walks will occur five times in 2008. Our City Center shows are on the route, and if you are scheduled during an Art Walk month, you are expected to participate in Art Walk. This means being at City Center from 4-8 PM on the evening of Art Walk to welcome people who are walking around Montpelier looking at art. If you want to arrange refreshments at your show, so much the better! If you are showing during one of the Art Walk dates, please be sure to contact Rob Hitzig several weeks before the date as he coordinates content for the Art Walk flyer, and he will include images of your work if you contact him. He can be reached at the link above, or at The Lazy Pear Gallery (223-7680).Talk up the Art Walk and participate! A new banner is now in use near the Fire Station to let people know when an Art Walk is happening.
