NEWS:
ARA had its annual meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 5:30 - 7:30 at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier. The same slate of Directors and Officers of the Board was re-elected, and a good time was had by all. During the month of March, an exhibit of ARA artists is up at City Center in Montpelier (see image submitted by Donna Doucette below).

Vermont Art Zine: In other news, we're letting you know about Vermont Art Zine, a new online magazine devoted to the visual arts. It's a good way of keeping connected with visual arts developments all over the state. They create links to artists' websites and blogs (including this site), so if you have a site, ask to have it added! They'd like people to cover visual arts exhibits in all parts of the state, so have a look and see if there's role for you! Have a look HERE for a review of the exhibit below.

IMPORTANT NOTE: We must not use nails in the walls at City Center, nor can we tape things to the walls! Work must be hung with monofilament or picture wire, hanging from the overhead rails.

* Montpelier Art Walk
Montpelier Art Walks will occur on four Fridays in 2009. Our City Center shows are on the route, and if you are scheduled during an Art Walk month, you are expected to participate in Art Walk. This means being at City Center from 4-8 PM on the evening of Art Walk to welcome people who are walking around Montpelier looking at art. If you want to arrange refreshments at your show, so much the better! If you are showing during one of the Art Walk dates, please be sure to contact Rob Hitzig several weeks before the date as he coordinates content for the Art Walk flyer, and he will include images of your work if you contact him. He can be reached at the link above, or at The Lazy Pear Gallery (223-7680).Talk up the Art Walk and participate! A new banner is now in use near the Fire Station to let people know when an Art Walk is happening.
